Program notes:

The act of composition, especially in these uncertain times can be an incredibly optimistic and hopeful one. Nevertheless, in my humble opinion optimism has to be tempered with the realities of life and with the certainty that uncertainty is the order of every day.

With this in mind, the piece came from a place of frustration, anger, fear and the realization that our world will never be the same, or rather we won’t be the same in it, and acting as otherwise is futile.
